Concert with Ariana Vafadari
Wednesday July 19 Exceptional evening at Valmagne Abbey
ARIANA VAFADARI [traditional, classical and jazz music]
Franco-Iranian singer and composer, Ariana Vafadari brings together her oriental heritage and her passion for classical music.
“Anahita”, a musical creation, tells the story of the quest for the feminine and water. A prayer to Anahita, Iranian divinity of waters, fertility, and wisdom. The one who increases rivers, peoples and the living, the healer and the one who initiates wisdom. A mystical quest that resonates with very real dramas.
Surrounded by musicians with diverse cultural and musical origins: Julien Carton (Piano), Rusan Filiztek (Ud), Leïla Soldevila (Double bass) trained in traditional Iranian and Moroccan music, others in jazz, in Western classical music, they pass freely in compositions from one universe to another.
The sacred dance of Rana Gorgani, whirling dervish, illuminates the song and the music with his hypnotic presence.
