Tribute to Rumi – Sufi Rhythms and Dance of Iran with Farid Sheek

FARID SHEEK

“Music tells a story beyond words.”
Farid Sheek is an Iranian multi-instrumentalist (piano and percussion) and composer.
Residing in the Netherlands since 2011, his artistic work is influenced by East and West…
Coming from a Sufi family and a musician father, he evolved from childhood in an artistic and spiritual environment.
His artistic work mixing tradition and modernity leads him to collaborate with different musical horizons (classical, jazz, rock …)
Through the virtuosity of his playing, he transmits a legacy of the trance rhythms of Iran and navigates with ease between improvisation and traditional repertoire.
Nourished by the sources of mystical poetry, his sound creations cross time and space for an ecstatic and contemplative listening.
