The city of Saint-Denis is associated with the history of the kings of France. Many know the existence of the royal necropolis gathering tombs from the twelfth to the nineteenth century. 43 kings, 32 queens and 10 servants of the monarchy are buried there. If some names of kings like Dagobert or Louis XIV are remembered in our memory, the names of queens and princesses are sometimes more evanescent. Who remembers Arégonde, Anne of Brittany or Marie of Anjou? La Nuit des Reines is a performance that pays tribute to the queens and princesses buried in the Basilica while creating bridges between yesterday and today, through the notion of trance.
